A productive first review does not require a finished specification. A sketch, reference frame, preliminary drawing or CAD file can all provide a useful starting point.

The review considers frame type, material direction, construction, components, target market, estimated quantity and timing. Open technical questions are recorded so that sampling begins with a clear purpose.

After the initial review, the product is matched to the appropriate development and manufacturing capabilities. This may involve EIDAI's core processes or additional specialists in Sabae and elsewhere in Japan.
